What we collect
Information you give us
- Email account: your username, email address and password. Your password is stored only as a secure one-way hash (scrypt). We can never see it.
- Google sign-in: if you choose Continue with Google, we receive your Google Play Games player ID and display name. We do not get your Google password.
- Profile: the name you choose and the face picture you pick in the game.
- Friends and chat: your friend code, your friend list, friend requests, and the chat messages you send to friends.
Information created while you play
- Game progress: levels, stars, coins, items you own, your truck and settings. If you are signed in, a copy is saved on our server (cloud save) so you can move to a new phone.
- Duels: moves and results of duels with friends, sent through our server while you play.
- Online status: whether you are online right now, so friends can invite you.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, device type and app version, kept in short-term server logs to run the service and stop abuse.
- Ads and analytics: when ads and analytics are turned on, our partners may collect an advertising ID and usage data (see below).
How we use it
- To run the game, save your progress and restore it on a new phone.
- To let you add friends, chat, see who is online, and play duels.
- To keep accounts safe, stop cheating, spam and abuse.
- To fix crashes and make the game better.
- To show ads and process purchases.
We do not sell your personal information.
Partners we use
| Partner | What for |
|---|---|
| Google Play Games Services | Optional sign-in with your Google account |
| Google Play Billing | In-app purchases. Google handles your payment details, we never see them. |
| Ad networks (for example AppLovin MAX and its partners) | Showing ads, including rewarded ads you choose to watch |
| Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) | Understanding how the game is used and fixing crashes |
These partners have their own privacy policies. Ad partners may use your device's advertising ID to show ads. You can reset or limit this ID in your phone's settings (Google > Ads).
Who can see your information
- Your friends see your name, face picture, friend code, online status and the chat messages you send them.
- Duel rivals see your name, face picture and your truck.
- Service providers such as our server host, only to run the service.
- The law: we may share information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the service.
How long we keep it
- Account and cloud save: until you delete your account.
- Chat: the latest 200 messages between two friends. Older messages are removed.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
- If you delete your account, we remove your account data within 7 days.
How we protect it
All traffic between the app and our server uses HTTPS encryption. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sign-in secrets stay on our server and are never put inside the app. No system is 100% safe, but we work hard to protect your data.
Children
BrainZap is made for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 gave us information, email us and we will delete it.
